About Parish Nursing
Parish Nursing extends the healing mission of Jesus through prayer, education, health screenings, referral, advocacy, and counsel. Parish Nursing encompasses the wellness and balance of the body, mind, and spirit of the congregation.
Ongoing Programs
- Advanced Care Planning: Completion of Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care/Living Will: Parish Nurses have been trained as facilitators, through Honoring Choices Idaho to help with the completion of your DPOA/Living Will. Call 208-888-1182 x408 to make an appointment.
- Anointing Mass: Quarterly — next Anointing Mass Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 7pm
- Blood pressure screenings: First weekend of each month after all Masses (except 1pm)
- Fit & Fall Proof: Mondays & Wednesdays 9:30am
- Flex Fit & Faithful: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 7:35am
- Healing Services: First and third Wednesday of each month, 7pm. Communion service and individual prayers offered.
- Pastoral Visitors: Provide prayerful comfort and bring the Eucharist to those unable to come to the church, typically on a weekly basis. Becoming a Pastoral Visitor requires registration, permission and training from a specified Deacon and the Parish Nurse, Safe Environment Training, and a Diocese background check. Visitors go to parishioners’ homes, assisted living facilities, rehab facilities, and the hospital.
